Women Political Leaders (WPL) will host its annual Representation Matters Reception on Sunday, 22 September 2024, coinciding with the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA79). This year’s theme, “Charting the Course: Politics in the 21st Century,” is especially significant in this super election year.
As global leaders gather in New York City for high-level diplomacy and multilateral engagement, WPL will bring together its network of members, partners, and allies to celebrate achievements in political leadership, discuss ongoing challenges, and reinforce the necessity of equal political representation. The event will focus on sharing insights and charting a course toward enhanced political leadership.
The Reception is co-hosted with the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) and Salesforce, represented by their respective Presidents, Ambassador Michael Frohman and Amy Weaver. Representing WPL will be Silvana Koch-Mehrin, President and Founder, and Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, Chair of the WPL Board.
