Hon. Tashi Wangmo is the Member of Parliament and one of the Eminent Members in National Council appointed by His Majesty the King. Before joining the Parliament, Hon. Tashi Wangmo worked in the civil service in various capacities. She began her career as Asst. Engineer in Department of Civil Aviation and later joined as a Planning Officer in National Technical Training Authority. She also served as the Chief Planning Officer and Programme Officer in  Ministry of Labour and Human Resources, 

Hon Tashi’s areas of interests are in good governance and social related issues. She was elected as the Chairperson of the Social & Cultural Affairs Committee, National Council from 2008-2009, and as the Chairperson of Good Governance Committee from 2013-2015 and from 2018-2019. Hon. Tashi was named as the Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum, Geneva, in 2010.

She holds Master’s in Public Policy from National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan in 2003, and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Wollongong, NSW, Australia, 1997
