Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL) is honoured to invite you to the inauguration of the WPL Africa Office in Kigali, Rwanda, on 27th – 29th April.
The inauguration of the WPL Africa Office is co-hosted in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Rwanda and in partnership with the Mo Ibrahim Foundation, who is holding their 2018 Ibrahim Governance Weekend in Kigali.
WPL is welcoming women leaders to a series of events taking place over this three-day weekend, to officially kick-off the beginning of our Africa Office activities on the continent. There will also be a special dinner hosted by the Foreign Minister of Rwanda, Honourable Louise Mushikiwabo, on Saturday the 28th of April to celebrate the inauguration with leaders from across Africa.
On Sunday, 29 April 2018, WPL will be organising three policy focused sessions on Trust in Public Institutions, Women Leadership and Maternal Health, starting at 9 am and ending at 4 pm, with a special WPL lunch at 12:30 to 2 pm, hosted by Ms Arancha Gonzalez, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre (ITC) at the Kigali Convention centre.
As an independent, international and non-partisan foundation, the mission of WPL is to advance society by increasing the number and the influence of women in political leadership positions. As the only forum reaching out to all female political leaders on an international level, WPL endeavours to find ways to address global challenges by using the collective strength and ability of women in positions of political leadership across the world. Our work in Africa seeks to give special focus to WPL’s activities on the continent and to continue our efforts of building new communities of knowledge for women political leaders across Africa.
This occasion will offer the opportunity for a select group of female decision-makers to interact and to exchange on best practice and knowledge of political decision-making. Discussions are held with the purpose of moving to action.
