WPL at the OECD Forum 2017

The Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL) has participated as an official Friend of the OECD Forum in Paris, on 6-7, June 2017.

The central focus of the forum -organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)- was on Bridging Divides at a time of increasing populism and nationalism, historically low levels of trust, rapid technological development, and continued effects of crisis.

The 2017 Forum placed a central emphasis on the need for policies winning back the confidence of those who feel left behind, fearful of the impact of globalization, increasing migration flows, and the unprecedented speed of technological development.

The OECD Forum presents a wide range of sessions and interactive formats to facilitate connections and exchange of debates that are aimed to shape and improve the well-being of people around the world.

WPL, as an official Friend of the OECD Forum, has been enjoying a fruitful and continuing cooperation with this organisation. This new event was an exciting opportunity to discuss and exchange about the contribution of gender equality and women’s empowerment to a more inclusive growth.
