On the occasion of the Munich Security Conference 2019, Women Political Leaders and McKinsey & Company will be jointly hosting a high level roundtable and lunch on the 16th of February entitled, “A Man’s World? Leadership and Participation in International Affairs”.
Across the world, the notion of the populist “strongman leader” is gaining traction on the false promise of decisive leadership. In this context, “strong leadership” is becoming more and more about showing strength rather than about creating consensus through compromise.
The question of how leadership should be defined, what type of leadership is needed and what role women play in today’s international environment will be at the center of the debate.
