Konul Nurullayeva

Konul Nurullayeva, Member of Milli Majlis. “As a member of the Committee on Family, Women and Children at Parliament I take an active part in the preparation of draft laws and resolutions on the formation and implementation of state policy on women, family relations, protection and implementation of women’s rights and gender equality. Besides, I am a member of the Committee on Equality and Non-Discrimination at PACE. Till today I attended many videoconferences on “Gender measure of foreign policy”, “Artificial intelligence”, “Women’s empowerment”, “Honour crimes against women” and shared my views and suggestions with participants. I also was a member of the Gender Equality in Sport Commission of the European Olympic Committees and currently chair the Gender Equality Committee of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation. As a WPL Ambassador for Azerbaijan, I will continue to call on women to take an active part in all spheres, encourage them to participate in decision-making centers, increase the political representation of women and support them from various platforms.”

Bio:

Konul Nurullayeva is a Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan. MP Nurullayeva has extensive experience in the field of sports and gender equality. Between 2009-2016, Nurullayeva was a member of the Executive Committee of the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation and the head of the International Relations Department of the Federation. In 2018, she was appointed head of the Committee on Gender Equality in Women and Sports. In 2020, she was elected a member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). At the same time, she was appointed head of the Azerbaijan-Croatia interparliamentary working group by the decision of the Milli Majlis.
