Lena Nazaryan, Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia: “Women face numerous evident, as well as not appearing problems worldwide.  One of my key priorities is addressing the challenges to achieving gender equality and women’s rights protection by undertaking activities on gender equality in different areas, laying the necessary foundations for an effective environment for sector-specific and cross-sectoral policy implementation, challenging the gender norms, and working towards a greater consensus for a better world. Encouraging women’s political participation, securing gender representation in the formation of the party leadership, engaging more women in the local government are small, but necessary steps to notice women’s problems, voice them and search solutions.”

Bio: 

Lena Nazaryan serves as Vice President of the National Assembly of Armenia since 2019 and is a Member of the Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs. MP Nazaryan was additionally Member of the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environment of the National Assembly. Prior to her position as Parliamentarian, Hon. Nazaryan was the Coordinator of the election programs of the NGO “Transparency International Anticorruption Center.”
