The Women’s Political Careers report spells out the non-legal barriers for women in politics. It is based on survey responses from women politicians in 66 countries seeking to better understand the motivations and challenges shared by women who decide to pursue a political career. The report is the result of a partnership between the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, King’s College and WPL.

The report was launched in April 2023 in the prestigious halls of Westminster to a selected circle of women politicians and media representatives. It was followed by a roundtable discussion focusing on the obstacles that women in politics face and how to remove them.

The launch of the report was presented by Julia Gillard, Chair of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership, Prime Minister (2010-2013), Australia, and co-hosted by WPL and Carolyn Harris, Member of Parliament, United Kingdom. Read the Women’s Political Careers Report here.
