Justyne Caruana, new WIP Ambassador for Malta

The Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) is delighted to announce that Ms Justyne Caruana, Member of Parliament of Malta, will serve as a WIP Ambassador for her country. Caruana has served as Malta’s Parliamentary Secretary for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Active Ageing since April 2014.

She was first elected to Parliament in 2003 and successively in 2008 and 2013.  As head of the Maltese Parliament’s delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), she also serves on the gender equality task force and is rapporteur of the first Committee on Political Affairs.  Dr Justyne Caruana was regional representative of the UK, British Isles and Mediterranean Region on the Steering Committee of the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians and currently represents Malta on its Regional British Isles and Mediterranean Steering Committee.

She is also a member of the Public Accounts Committee and a member of the Select Committee on Standards, Ethics and Proper Behaviour in Public Life in Malta’s national parliament.
