The Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) organised a breakfast meeting with female leaders of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly on the 8th of December 2015, at the European Parliament. This meeting was co-hosted by Louis Michel, Member of the European Parliament, Co-President of the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and former EU Commissioner for Development and Humanitarian Aid.
The WIP Breakfast served to strengthen the network between women leaders across the ACP- Europe region. The event focused on encouraging female Parliamentarians to become a driving force in their national parliaments and to improve the positon of women in politics and achieve gender equality. It was an informal platform for female Parliamentarians to exchange ideas, best practices and establishing meaningful dialogue on issues high on the political agenda.
The WIP Breakfast was also a great opportunity to gather female Parliamentarians from the ACP-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly to discuss how to increase cooperation, share experience and encourage Parliamentarians to positively influence society; stimulate and promote good governance, development and respect of human rights.
