WIP at the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum

Switzerland World Economic Forum 01 Scaled

The World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Davos engages the world’s top leaders in collaborative activities focused on shaping the global, regional and industry agendas. The Women in Parliaments Global Forum (WIP) organised two activities during the 2017 WEF meeting:

Panel discussion “How can responsible leadership be popular?”

Landmark political events in 2016 challenged whether traditional opinion polling remains reliable. Fake news, bots and populist uber-responsiveness set the scenes and showed the need to act inclusively, as neglected groups of society become vocal and increasingly active in public debate, often via digital platforms. The WIP panel discussion at Davos 2017 addressed all these topics, on 19 January.
