Bio: 

Stephanie D’Hose was appointed as Speaker of the Belgian Senate in 2020, making her the fifth woman and youngest person ever to hold the office. She was elected in the Flemish regional parliament in 2019 and has been a local councilwoman in the city of Ghent since 2012. Speaker D’Hose is a member of the Flemish Liberal and Democratic Party and has always been known as a vocal women’s rights advocate. The battle for equal rights and equal opportunities has been a spearpoint of her political life.
