Iqra Khalid has served as Member of Parliament representing Mississauga-Erin Mills since  she was first elected in 2015. She serves in the International Human Rights subcommittee, as  well as Chair of the Justice Committee and the Women’s Caucus. 

Iqra has studied critical issues of our time and pushed the Government of Canada to take  action on the Rohingya Genocide, online hate, and human trafficking in Canada and around the  world. She has raised the alarm on escalating intimate partner violence, urged the Government of  Canada to condemn Islamophobia and all forms of discrimination, as well as successfully  advocated for safer long-term care facilities as well as a national early learning and childcare  system.  

Iqra Khalid is a voice to the voiceless. As she serves her riding throughout the COVID-19  pandemic, she continues to champion human rights and women’s issues in Canada and around  the world.
